Virtual Reality Workshop

About Workshop

Virtual reality is an artificial environment that is created with software and presented to the user using 3D assisted devices in such a way that the user experiences a real 3D world environment which he can interact, manipulate and explore. One of the forms of virtual reality is a 3-D image that appears life sized and in some cases, be explored interactively or allow tracking of user’s motions, particularly the head and eyes, and correspondingly adjust the 3D scene. This immersive experience and associated technology finds enormous use in education and wide variety of applications like Automobile, Mechanical, Construction, Medicine, Process Control, Gaming, Meeting Rooms, Architecture, Advertising etc. The Virtual Reality Modelling Language (VRML), 3DML, X3D are a few languages that allows the creator to specify scenes and the rules for their display and interaction using textual language statements. Adobe after Effects help us quickly develop simple to very complex studio category VR applications for various devices. VR Glasses are now made available from companies like Oculus, VR Box, Sony, Google, to name a few. To enhance the reach, Google launched the Google Cardboard, a low priced DIY 3D VR glasses. The proposed workshop plans to use the Google Cardboard design for VR glasses for visualization of the developed content.
